Kirirom National Park

You can really get away from it all at this lush elevated park (admission US$5) Just a two-hour drive southwest of Phnom Penh. Winding walking trails lead to cascading wet-season waterfalls and cliffs with amazing views of the Cardamom Mountains, and there's some great mountain-biking to be done if you're adventurous.
Or you could just relax and forget about the outside world for a few days at Kirirom Hillside Resort near the park entrance. With plastic dinosaurs, it's tacky at first, but scattered around
the ground are some great Scandinavian-style bungalows in various shapes and sizes (these are preferable to the rooms in the main lodge). The pool has a lovely setting with the hills of Kirirom as a backdrop and is open to nonguests for US$5 per day.
Nearby are camping and basic budget sleeping options, and a Community-Based Ecotourism Program (admission adult/child US$3/1) 10km from the park entrance in Chambok commune, where attractions include a 40m-high waterfall, traditional ox-cart rides and nature walks. About 1km from the Chambok commune, entrance is a restaurant and information centre where you pay your entrance fee. From here it's a 2km or 3 km walk to a series of three waterfalls. The second waterfall has a swimming hole. The third one is the impressive 40m-high waterfall.
